green like american money

College = Being on your own = NO MONEY!!!

I constantly see myself checking my bank account and seeing a balance of absolutely nothing.... I always seem to ask myself, "Where in the world is all of my money going??"

As a college student, let me give y'all some tips on saving money.. Because trust me you are all going to want to buy all the food and clothing you want since you're pretty much on your own!

So here we go...

  1. When it comes to clothing: Consignment stores are going to become your best friend
      • I love spending money on new clothes and my personal favorite store is Plato's closet! They sell name brand clothing for the lowest prices. True story, I once got a pair of Hollister jeans for $8 - and they were in good condition!
  2. When it comes to food: Split the cost of some wings with a group of friends
      • I NEVER finish my food, so I figured that splitting the cost of Campus Corner and Wingers is the best way to save my money! You'll never see me pay $10 for food!
  3. When it comes to Uber (money stealer *insert frowny-face emoji*): Split the cost
      • Uber has an option to split the bill on rides! I usually take trips with my 5 best friends and it is so cheap when it's all divided by 5 people. The most I've had to spend on Uber was $10!
  4. And on the 7th day... God created Venmo
      • By far the best money sharing app. It is super safe and very efficient. It is an app that you can pay or request money from friends and it can be taken out or deposited into your bank account!

I'm definitely going to become that extreme couponer mom! You will never catch me paying full price for anything!

I hope this tips help you save money in college! Just remember - money is power and you need it to live (that's if you only live from eating CampCo!!)

XOXO,

Kate

P.S. I'm gonna give a HUGE shoutout to my best friend Dev! Her blog is super inspiring and a lot like mine if y'all are looking for some good reads! Love you Devvy <3
